The solid German spruce soundboard and flamed maple sides and back complete the modern AE body shape and, while the top has been given a natural finish, the back and sides come coated in a lush, transparent aqua blue. The playability is just as forward thinking thanks to the Comfort Grip profile of the set-in maple neck, while the exclusive A.I.R. port set into the side of the upper bout projects the acoustic sound upwards and serves as a personal monitor, whether you're playing unplugged or amplified.

The rosewood fretboard has been given a flat 15.75 inch radius and comes loaded with a full set of twenty jumbo frets to support agile playability, and this has been combined with the slightly longer 25.6 inch scale length to boost the precision of both finger-picking and plectrum-based techniques. The acoustic sound of this model is immediately strong, defined and tight, and every bit of it is translated in full by the fitted T-bar Undersaddle pickup and Ibanez Custom Electronics preamp.
